working groups

Our network works toward a system that accelerates farmer organisation professionalisation and incentivises high quality services for farmer organisations. This system is what we call the AMEA Framework. Our Working Groups target specific areas of the AMEA Framework. The Working Groups are led by AMEA members with support from the AMEA Global Coordination Office.

Global Guidelines

Increasing the visibility of the IWA 29: 'Professional Farmer Organization - Guidelines' and encouraging its development, dissemination and uptake on a global and local level. Working towards the Systematic Review of the IWA 29 so that it becomes a full-fledged ISO International Standard.

Toolbox

Evaluating the effectiveness of assessment tools and training materials aimed at improving the capacity of farmer organisations. Supports the local development of assessor, trainer and coach hubs where clients can find high quality services that deliver against the competencies set out in the IWA 29.

ag-tech

Curating, disseminating and promoting potentially disruptive and appropriate agricultural technology (ag-tech) that increase farmer professionalism, generate datasets on business development services and promote sustainable production.

Access to finance

Generating learnings on how to increase the levels of professionalism of agri-SMEs in order to be reliable customers for Finance Service Providers and builds common understanding of ’bankability’ and risk sharing.
