Meet our Kenya Network Facilitator

AMEA is happy to announce the appointment of our Kenya Network Facilitator – Merciline Oyier. Merciline coordinates our network of 13 members in Kenya which focuses on promoting the IWA29 at a national level, generating learning opportunities in thematic areas and identifying agriculture technologies for member projects. Merciline will also build bridges between our Global Working Groups and Local Networks and bring increased value to our members.

Merciline Oyier holds a Bsc in Biochemistry/Chemistry, Executive Masters in Business Administration and she is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP – PMI ).

 

Merciline is currently the Business Development Officer for Cordaid in Kenya. in the lead-up to this, Merciline worked with Cordaid for 10 years in different roles, including Programme Management in Kenya and Horn of Africa Region.

 

Before joining Cordaid, Merciline worked for Care International in Kenya implementing the Village Savings and Loans Associations concept to enhance access to finance  for commercialised Agriculture in Kenya. Other themes in her work experience include Health, Gender, Governance and Climate Resilience.

"I'm keen to create  a network of members with enthusiasm and interest  to  complement and support each other towards creating stronger farmer organizations. I believe that this positive energy will inspire smallholder farmers and change the negative narrative around  access to finance that has hindered farmers from exploiting the massive resources around them  to create flourishing families and communities."
